Women's Refuge to benefit from briefing on stress management
THE National Dairy Council is hosting an information evening on nutrition and stress management for women on Wednesday next, April 13th, 2005 at 7.30 p.m. in the McEniff Ard Rí Hotel, in aid of Oasis House Women’s Refuge.
Presentations will cover nutritional issues for women, effective stress management, skincare and make-up tips. These will be followed by a cheese and wine reception.
A nutritionist from NDC will discuss nutritional issues for Irish women. Currently, 36% of Irish women do not consume enough calcium, while more than half fail to meet their iron requirements.
Very few women of childbearing age meet their folate needs. Positive nutrition tips will be provided, together with advice for achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight. The truth about fad diets will be revealed and dieting myths dispelled.
A Health Promotion Officer with the Health Service Executive South East will provide information on how to recognise and cope with stress. Skin-care and makeup tips will be given by a representative from a leading cosmetics company. The presentations will be followed by a cheese and wine reception.
Admission will be €5 (payable at the door) and all proceeds go to Oasis House Women’s Refuge. All women are welcome. For further information, please contact The National Dairy Council on 01 6169726.
